JEEP announced a problem with the Wrangler affecting a total of 14 vehicles.
Under certain driving conditions the transmission fluid may overheat. Continuous operations under these conditions may cause the fluid to boil over and come into contact with hot exhaust and engine components which might lead to an under bonnet fire.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to reprogramme the cabin compartment computer to add a transmission temperature warning feature. An addendum will also be added to the Owner's Manual.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest JEEP dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
