TOYOTA RX300 Recall

Possibility that the stop lamp could fail

TOYOTA RX300 recall Dec 2004TOYOTA announced a problem with the RX300 affecting a total of 5,936 vehicles.

In the stop lamp switch of subject vehicles equipped with LED stop lamps, there is the possibility that silicone oxide may be generated the surface of the contact point, and in consequence the resistance of the contact could increase. In this circumstance current may not flow, causing the stop lamp to become inoperative. Vehicles built from 02/10/2004 to 04/07/2004 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will have the subject switch replaced with a quality assured unit.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

HF31U000000001005 to HF31U000000028470
