MERCEDES BENZ announced a problem with the Axor affecting a total of 2,064 vehicles.
It has been identified that, heavy corrosion in the interior of the starter motor may develop following frequent starting procedures or very high mileages. As a result, damage may occur to the starter wiring harness routed below the choke housing. This may result in a short circuit in the starter harness and the risk of a vehicle fire. Vehicles built from 1/1/2004 to 12/31/2005 are at risk.
Recalled vehicles will be fitted with a protective cap at the rear of the choke housing.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
