TOYOTA COROLLA Recall

Brake pedal stroke may increase

TOYOTA COROLLA recall Jul 2002TOYOTA announced a problem with the COROLLA affecting a total of 4,025 vehicles.

Certain brake master cylinder reservoir cap air vents are blocked. If the vehicle is driven in this condition for long term, a vacuum is created in the reservoir tank as brake pads wear. There is a possibility that this vacuum may cause the brake pedal stroke to increase. Vehicles built from 03/05/2002 to 05/30/2002 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles and replace reservoir cap if faulty.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

SB1JM28E#0E012517 to SB1KX
