VW announced a problem with the PASSAT affecting a total of 43,357 vehicles.
It has been identified that on some Passat vehicles the windscreen wipers may fail to operate because of a software fault. Vehicles built from 1/4/2005 to 31/8/2006 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Affected vehicles will have a cap for the windscreen wiper motor fitted

find your nearest VW dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
