Parking brake efficiency |
OPTARE announced a problem with the ALERO affecting a total of 40 vehicles.
The handbrake pivot lever within the brake drum may break across the pivot hole. This will cause the parking brake to fail on the affected side. Vehicles built from 09/21/2001 to 09/21/2001 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Modify the parking brake mechanism within the brake drum.
Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:
210206 to 210246
