AUDI A3 with ABS (but without ASR/TCS, EDL or ESP) Recall

Anti lock brake control unit concern

AUDI A3 with ABS (but without ASR/TCS, EDL or ESP) recall Jun 2002AUDI announced a problem with the A3 with ABS (but without ASR/TCS, EDL or ESP) affecting a total of 99 vehicles.

There is a risk that an electrical fault in the anti lock brake control unit (ABS) can cause overheating of related electrical components. This may lead to fire damage and cause the service brake to revert to a non-anti lock mode of operation. Vehicles built from 03/01/2001 to 09/30/2001 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles to check the part number and supplier code of the ABS control unit. Renew the ABS control unit where found necessary.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

WAU...8L.1A 079 091 to WAU...8L.1A 121 805 to 0
