Engine may cut out

HONDA CIVIC HYBRID recall Mar 2007HONDA announced a problem with the CIVIC HYBRID affecting a total of 569 vehicles.

It has been established that when the rear seat is occupied, the deformation of the seat back may cause a brief interference between a protection plate, and an electrical connector. This can result in the main fuse blowing, causing the engine to cut out. Vehicles built from 9/1/2005 to 9/11/2005 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will have an additional plastic cover placed over the subject electrical connector.
