Engine wiring harness may chafe causing localised overheating and possibly a fire
MERCEDES BENZ announced a problem with the ACTROS affecting a total of 1,081 vehicles.
The engine wiring harness may chafe and cause localised overheating. In extreme cases, this may result in a fire. Vehicles built from 01/01/2000 to 12/31/2000 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall likely to be affected vehicles and inspect the engine wiring harness, repairing individual cables as necessary. The harness will then be enclosed within a protective sheath.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest MERCEDES BENZ dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
