LAND ROVER Freelander 2 diesel fitted with PTC heater recall Dec 2008LAND ROVER announced a problem with the Freelander 2 diesel fitted with PTC heater affecting a total of 28,924 vehicles.

A short circuit may occur in the PTC heater which could result in the battery discharging, a smell from hot/melted components or in the worst case fire. Vehicles built from 2/1/2007 to 5/23/2008 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the PTC heater and condensation drain tube with the latest specification components.
