NISSAN CABSTAR E Recall

Excessive wear of vacuum pump drive gear

NISSAN CABSTAR E recall Jan 2005NISSAN announced a problem with the CABSTAR E affecting a total of 105 vehicles.

A concern has been identified with the vacuum pump drive gear, which could wear excessively due to insufficient surface hardness. If the condition is ignored, gear wear could cause the pump to cease operating, which results in the loss of brake assistance. Vehicles built from 12/08/2002 to 12/06/2003 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Subject vehicles will be recalled at which time the vacuum pump drive gear will be replaced.
