FORD Fiesta and Fusion Recall

Potential loss of steering control

FORD Fiesta and Fusion recall Aug 2007FORD announced a problem with the Fiesta and Fusion affecting a total of 496 vehicles.

It has been identified that a small number of Fiesta and Fusion vehicles may have been built with a steering column which may have suffered damage by inappropriate handling prior to vehicle production. In rare cases there may be damage to the column upper universal joint, which could result in loss of steering control. Vehicles built from 8/18/2006 to 9/8/2006 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will have the steering column universal joint inspected for signs of damage. If damage is found, the steering column assembly will be replaced.

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest FORD dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
