VW announced a problem with the TOURAN & GOLF AND GOLF + affecting a total of 26,264 vehicles.
The possibility exists that the two mass flywheel may fail, due to the design of the through-flow restrictor in the clutch pressure pipe. In the worst case, the failure can result in a vehicle fire. Vehicles built from 10/01/2003 to 05/31/2005 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Affected vehicles will be recalled to establish the manufacturer of the two-mass flywheel and if necessary replace the flywheel and breather of the clutch pressure pipe.
