FORD announced a problem with the TRANSIT affecting a total of 53,774 vehicles.
Excessive axle shaft end play, which can be identified by excessive noise and changes in vehicle handling, could possibly, if not detected, lead to detachment of the axle shaft retaining clip and result in the shaft 'walking out' of the axle. Vehicles built from 12/11/2003 to 4/30/2006 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall all affected vehicle for the replacement of the axle shaft retaining clip by a modified replacement.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest FORD dealer
