Front seat belt locking system may not release when activated.
TOYOTA announced a problem with the Lexus 5. GS300/430/IS220d/IS250 affecting a total of 4,038 vehicles.
Some front seat belt retractors, when the emergency lock has been applied, will not release. If the seat belt is locked in this manner the seat belt will not adjust for the next occupant. Vehicles built from 09/01/2005 to 01/31/2006 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the front seat belt assemblies.
