Fuel may leak from manifold

FIAT Fiat 500 & Grande Punto 1.2 & 1.4 8v petrol version recall Jan 2009FIAT announced a problem with the Fiat 500 & Grande Punto 1.2 & 1.4 8v petrol version affecting a total of 1,893 vehicles.

Fuel may leak, as on some engines the fuel manifolds may not be to specification. If the fuel manifold leaks it is possible that a loss of power could occur and the engine cut out. Vehicles built from 9/1/2008 to 10/31/2008 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to inspect the fuel manifold and check it for conformity to specification. Where necessary replace the fuel manifold.
