JAGUAR announced a problem with the X-type (2.2 diesel) affecting a total of 17,678 vehicles.
The cruise control may not disengage if certain faults occur when the cruise control is engaged. If the same faults occur when the cruise control is not engaged, it will not be possible to engage the cruise control. Vehicles built from 05/01/2005 to 01/31/2010 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to update the engine management controller software.
