Grid heater re-connection ( in conjunction with previous recall ref. r/2010/001) |
MERCEDES BENZ BUS announced a problem with the Citaro affecting a total of 158 vehicles.
Following Recall R/2010/001, where it was identified that there was an issue with the grid heaters fitted to vehicles with EEV emission standard, where they may suffer malfunctions or failures, which could result in a short circuit. Should this occur, the casting compound could melt and create a smouldering fire.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the affected vehicles to install new software and reinstate the operation of the grid heater.
