SCANIA TRUCK 4 SERIES Recall

Cracking of power steering hydraulic cylinder mounting bracket
SCANIA TRUCK announced a problem with the 4 SERIES affecting a total of 137 vehicles.

The bracket which mounts the steering hydraulic ram to the chassis, is a casting manufactured from an incorrect material. The bracket is too brittle, and therefore proven to developing cracks, which can give rise to steering difficulties.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Brackets on recalled vehicles will be checked for the serial number 3431/31 which indicates that the bracket has been made from the wrong material. If this is the case, the bracket will be changed.
