HONDA announced a problem with the CIVIC (5 DOOR) AND CIVIC HYBRID affecting a total of 8,872 vehicles.
The electrical power steering warning lamp may illuminate, and power assistance to the steering will be lost. The driver will not experience any symptoms prior to the failure. Vehicles built from 09/01/2005 to 02/01/2006 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. The electric power steering control unit will be tested and replaced as necessary
