NISSAN Navara (D40) Recall

Possible wheel detachment

NISSAN Navara (D40) recall Jun 2011NISSAN announced a problem with the Navara (D40) affecting a total of 35,630 vehicles.

In certain rare conditions where the vehicle is used fully loaded and cornering with high lateral acceleration a crack may occur on the spoke of the aluminium wheel. If this condition is ignored and the vehicle continues to be driven, the crack may propagate around other wheel spokes. This condition is expected to create a change in the vehicle handling and in extreme cases could lead to wheel detachment. Vehicles built from 1/6/2005 to 3/7/2008 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the wheels.

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest NISSAN dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
