BMW Mini announced a problem with the R52 Convertible affecting a total of 13 vehicles.
The front axle inside control arm ball joint may not be torqued to the correct specification, which can have a strong negative influence on wheel alignment. In extreme cases, should the screw connections become undone whilst the vehicle is in motion, then directional control maybe lost. Vehicles built from 4/10/2008 to 4/18/2008 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall all affected vehicles to have the subject connections torqued to the correct specification.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest BMW Mini dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
