TOYOTA RAV4 Recall

Road wheel spokes may crack and separate

TOYOTA RAV4 recall Jun 2006TOYOTA announced a problem with the RAV4 affecting a total of 851 vehicles.

It has been identified that steel wheels of insufficient strength have been fitted to some grades of RAV4 vehicles fitted with diesel engines. The possibility then exist that a crack may appear on the spoke(s) of the wheel which in the worst case could cause the spoke to separate. Vehicles built from 07/04/2001 to 09/15/2004 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Affected vehicles will have their wheels replaced with those of an improved quality.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

JTEYG20V#00001271 to JTEYG20V#00026075
JTEHG20V#00002183 to JTEHG20V#00075031
