PROTON GEN-2/NEO Recall

Short circuit may occur

PROTON GEN-2/NEO recall Oct 2010PROTON announced a problem with the GEN-2/NEO affecting a total of 328 vehicles.

The cable within the Clock Spring situated in the steering wheel can delimitate and become entangled within the assembly. This can cause a short circuit, which can activate the horn or lights without warning, and in extreme cases, the driver's airbag. Vehicles built from 1/4/2004 to 30/6/2008 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles for the replacement of the Clock Spring and associated wiring.
