PROTON announced a problem with the GEN-2/NEO affecting a total of 328 vehicles.
The cable within the Clock Spring situated in the steering wheel can delimitate and become entangled within the assembly. This can cause a short circuit, which can activate the horn or lights without warning, and in extreme cases, the driver's airbag. Vehicles built from 1/4/2004 to 30/6/2008 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles for the replacement of the Clock Spring and associated wiring.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest PROTON dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
