HYUNDAI announced a problem with the SONATA (NF) affecting a total of 48 vehicles.
It has been identified that on certain Sonata models, the stop lamp switch may fail. Should this occur the brake lights may fail to function or could flash continuously. It is also possible that the electronic stability programme may fail to function or not operate correctly. Additionally, in the case of vehicles fitted with automatic transmission and a transmission lock it may not be possible to move the gear selection lever from park to drive. Vehicles built from 9/20/2006 to 10/25/2006 are at risk.
Recalled vehicles will have the stop lamp switch replaced.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest HYUNDAI dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
