Brakes may fail

RENAULT MEGANE II AND SCENIC II recall Jun 2006RENAULT announced a problem with the MEGANE II AND SCENIC II affecting a total of 57,995 vehicles.

It has been identified that the possibility exists that the stop for the foot brake pedal collapse system is missing. This can result in the loss of braking efficiency when the brake pedal is at full travel. Vehicles built from 09/01/2003 to 01/21/2004 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will be inspected for the presence of the brake pedal collapse system stop and where this is found to be missing, the brake pedal will be replaced.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

VF1BM0B0H26984075 to VF1BM0F0529574526
VF1BM0B0H26984075 to VF1BM0F0529574526
