Alternator terminal concern

FORD Focus (all models except ST170) recall May 2002FORD announced a problem with the Focus (all models except ST170) affecting a total of 4,447 vehicles.

Alternator B terminal may break due to incorrect hardness, leaving battery cable loose. Vehicles built from 03/15/2002 to 03/26/2002 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Dealers are to check the Alternator B terminal type (visual check) and where necessary, replace the alternator.
