DAF CF AND XF Recall

Parking brake may apply inadvertentlly

DAF announced a problem with the CF AND XF affecting a total of 998 vehicles.

There is a possibility that the clamp ring connecting the brake hose of the parking brake relay valve on the rear axle may have been fitted incorrectly. Should the hose detach, the spring parking brake would inadvertently apply. Vehicles built from 09/01/2004 to 12/31/2004 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will have the position of the clamp ring checked. If found to be incorrect, the hose will be cut to the required length, and fitted with a new clamp ring and reinforcing sleeve.

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest DAF dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
