TOYOTA AVENSIS Recall

Possibility of fuel leak

TOYOTA AVENSIS recall Jul 2002TOYOTA announced a problem with the AVENSIS affecting a total of 3,088 vehicles.

There is a possibility that excessive residual stress remains on the check valve of the fuel pump during the assembly process. If the vehicle is driven with the residual stress, the check valve may leak fuel. Vehicles built from 07/10/2000 to 06/28/2001 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles to re-tighten the fuel pump check valve and replace the relevant fuel pipe to protect against stress fracture.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

SB153BBN00E000020 to 0
