ERF ERF EC Recall

Directional control may be lost

ERF announced a problem with the ERF EC affecting a total of 36 vehicles.

Due to incorrect specified locknuts, it is possible for the steering column universal joint clamp nut and bolt to loosen. This can result in a reduction of clamping force and subsequent detachment of the steering column universal joint, which can result in loss of directional control.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the affected vehicles to check and replace the subject nuts. If movement is detected between the joint and column, the dealer will contact MAN UK for instruction on the course of rectification.

How to check your car's VIN number - vehicle identification number

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest ERF dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
