MAZDA RX-8 (SE) Recall

Possible cracking of dynamic damper heat insulator

MAZDA RX-8 (SE) recall May 2004MAZDA announced a problem with the RX-8 (SE) affecting a total of 119 vehicles.

The dynamic damper heat insulator, which is installed on the manual transmission, may crack, causing abnormal noise. In the worst case, the insulator may become detached. Vehicles built from 07/28/2003 to 08/29/2003 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the affected vehicles and replace the insulator with a modified one.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

JMZSE170000100090 to JMZSE170000101030
