ASTON MARTIN announced a problem with the V8 VANTAGE affecting a total of 125 vehicles.
The engine may not start because the power train to chassis primary earth stud may have intermittent high resistance. This condition may occur when electrical items that draw high current are utilised, in which case the electrical path could route through the rear braided hoses causing them to heat up and possibly melt, leading to a soft pedal, illumination of the brake warning lamp and poor starting. Vehicles built from 05/23/2005 to 10/27/2005 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected so the primary earth stud can be moved to a new location and fit a secondary earth strap between the transmission and chassis.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
