MERCEDES BENZ Steering Column Tube Bracket - Sprinter Vans Recall
Steering column weld not to specification
MERCEDES BENZ announced a problem with the Steering Column Tube Bracket - Sprinter Vans affecting a total of 64 vehicles.
The bracket mounting the steering column to the body may fail because of inadequate welding on the joint at the tube. This can cause the column to tilt down and limited the degree of steering ability. Vehicles built from 10/1/2007 to 5/31/2008 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the replacement steering columns that have been sold and the replacement steering columns that are in stock.
