OPTARE ALERO Recall

AIR compressor mounting bracket may fracture.

OPTARE announced a problem with the ALERO affecting a total of 75 vehicles.

The air compressor mounting bracket may fracture and cause the drive belt to break. This will ultimately result in a lack of air pressure to operate the braking and suspension systems. Vehicles built from 09/01/2001 to 07/31/2002 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Fit a strengthened air compressor support bracket.

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest OPTARE dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
