MAZDA RX-8 (SE) Recall

Possible fuel leak

MAZDA RX-8 (SE) recall Aug 2005MAZDA announced a problem with the RX-8 (SE) affecting a total of 15,054 vehicles.

In certain cases; a vehicle which has been parked with the engine operating at high revs for an excessive length of time, can suffer melting of some parts surrounding the exhaust system. In consequence, this can result in a variety of malfunctions, including heat damage to the fuel tank. Vehicles built from 07/28/2003 to 12/20/2004 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will have the heat insulator pad attached to the fuel tank and power control module upgraded.

JMZSE17**60130513 to JMZSE17**60133012
