FIAT announced a problem with the Scudo Van (with drum brakes) affecting a total of 21 vehicles.
Vehicles fitted with rear brake drums may suffer contamination of the brake lining. This is due to the entry of water and detritus into the drum through the back plate. Vehicles built from 3/1/2007 to 7/31/2009 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles to fit a gasket to the back plate, where the handbrake cable enters the brake drum through the back plate.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest FIAT dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
