MERCEDES BENZ announced a problem with the ML CLASS affecting a total of 2,685 vehicles.
Automatic liftgate may open inadvertently due to moisture entry into the control unit from water leaks in the area of the rear lamps. Vehicles built from 7/1/2008 to 3/31/2009 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to reposition the control unit and replace the seals of the right and left rear lamp units.
