LAND ROVER FREELANDER Recall

Incorrect manufacturer of the passenger airbag

LAND ROVER FREELANDER recall Nov 2004LAND ROVER announced a problem with the FREELANDER affecting a total of 610 vehicles.

The deflector panel contained in the passenger side air-bag module may not have been manufactured to the correct specification. This may result in unsatisfactory performance of the deflector panel's structural integrity during air bag deployment. This could result in damage of the air bag that could allow the release of a fragment of the deflector panel into the passenger compartment. Vehicles built from 08/26/2004 to 10/01/2004 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the affected vehicles and replace the defective component with a quality assured one.
