VW announced a problem with the GOLF, GOLF PLUS DIESEL affecting a total of 4,842 vehicles.
The additional air heater heating element earth connection may overheat and in the most unfavourable cases may lead to a fire. Vehicles built from 6/11/2006 to 12/1/2007 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check that the earth connection is sufficiently tight.

find your nearest VW dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
