PORSCHE Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo Recall

Filling the fuel tank may cause an electrostatic charge

PORSCHE Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo recall Mar 2004PORSCHE announced a problem with the Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo affecting a total of 1 vehicles.

There is a possibility that the ground connection between the thread of the tank filler neck and the connecting pipe to the fuel tank may not be sound which may result in an electrostatic charge which in rare cases could create a spark which could ignite fuel vapours in the area outside of the tank filler neck, which could lead to a muffled detonation.. Vehicles built from 03/01/2003 to 03/01/2003 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles, inspect and if necessary rework ground connection.

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest PORSCHE dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
