HINO 700 series Recall |
Possible reduction of braking effort |
HINO announced a problem with the 700 series affecting a total of 520 vehicles.
It has been identified that during production, the front brake back plate retaining bolts may not have been tightened to the correct torque. Should the vehicle continue to be used in this condition, the bolts may work loose and fail. In the worst case, this could result in the front brake assembly detaching from the axle, breaking the air line causing a loss of braking effort at the affected wheel station and an increase in stopping distance. Vehicles built from 1/1/2005 to 12/31/2007 are at risk.
Recalled vehicles will have the subject bolts checked for correct torque. If found not to be at the correct torque, the bolts will be checked and replaced as necessary.
