FORD announced a problem with the MONDEO affecting a total of 8,888 vehicles.
Battery cable may chafe on transmission valve cover plate. Vehicles built from 06/01/2000 to 05/31/2002 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles, check cable insulation, repair if necessary and retain cable clear of cover plate.

who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
