Track rod nut may not be torqued correctly and become loose
VW announced a problem with the PASSAT affecting a total of 73 vehicles.
During manufacture, the steering track rod locking nuts may been tightened to an insufficient torque. As a result, the attachment of the track rod may become loose. Vehicles built from 02/01/2005 to 05/31/2005 are at risk.
Recalled vehicles will have the track rod locking nuts replaced on both the left and right hand sides.
