MAN announced a problem with the TG-A and ECT affecting a total of 4,509 vehicles.
Ageing may cause the contact resistance of the seat heating to increase. In conjunction with the seat heating regulator installed this can lead to the seat overheating and smouldering in extreme cases.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Fit a replacement seat heating regulator. Fit new seat cushion and back rest heating elements where necessary.
