Possibility of loss of efficiency in braking system.
RENAULT announced a problem with the Espace affecting a total of 1,090 vehicles.
There is a possibility of the fastener attaching the brake caliper to the Stub Axle coming loose on the rear wheels due to a mismatch between the Stub Axle and the fastener. This can adversely affect the performance of the fastener and may lead to a loss of efficiency in the braking system. Vehicles built from 07/17/2000 to 09/20/2000 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles and replace original fastener with a modified type and a lock washer to prevent it coming loose.
