JAGUAR XTYPE (DIESEL ONLY) Recall

Short circuit may occur

JAGUAR XTYPE (DIESEL ONLY) recall Jul 2005JAGUAR announced a problem with the XTYPE (DIESEL ONLY) affecting a total of 14,284 vehicles.

The possibility exists due to a lack of clearance between the battery positive cable and the number 1 cylinder fuel injector that the cable may chafe on the injector nut and that a short circuit may ensue. Vehicles built from 08/20/2003 to 08/24/2004 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will have the cable inspected and re-routed as required. Additionally, the cable will be secured with a modified clip.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

SAJEA51C84WD55322 to SAJAH55T556E33691
