JEEP CHEROKEE Recall

Possible loss of brake servo assistance

JEEP CHEROKEE recall Aug 2003JEEP announced a problem with the CHEROKEE affecting a total of 2,552 vehicles.

Vehicles may experience a vacuum leak in the EGR to Electronic Vacuum Regulator (EVM) tube. This may cause a loss of brake booster vacuum and require increased effort from the driver to operate the foot brake.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Inspect the vacuum tube from the EVM to the dash panel. Replace if damaged and re route the tube to eliminate interference with the exhaust shield.

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest JEEP dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
