Rh shock absorber mounting may not be correctly torqued
VW announced a problem with the PASSAT affecting a total of 1,699 vehicles.
It has been identified that on some Passat vehicles within the affected Vin range, the rear securing bolt of the right hand shock absorber mounting may not have been tightened to the correct torque. The consequence of this being that, the securing bolt may break. Vehicles built from 06/08/2003 to 06/10/2003 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles and replace the subject bolt.
