FORD announced a problem with the Mondeo affecting a total of 55,515 vehicles.
Under certain parking conditions the vehicle handbrake may not prevent the vehicle from moving. Vehicles built from 10/01/2000 to 07/05/2001 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Ford Dealers will fit an extension block to both rear caliper handbrake actuation levers.
