Excessive travel of parking brake lever. parking brake performance affected
HONDA announced a problem with the Civic 3 & 5 door affecting a total of 157 vehicles.
Parking brake assy; guide plates may separate allowing parking brake cable to move within the guide plates resulting in excess travel at lever and incorrect tension in cables. Vehicles built from 6/4/2008 to 6/17/2008 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles and replace parking brake lever assembly.
